This "Squidoo lens" is all about the mysterious Martin Gardner- a mathematical and magical master first introduced to me by my father by some of Martin's books on mathematical curiosities .
Some of the higher level maths was over my head but the fact that you can play games that you can't lose, make amazing cardboard models that open and close in mysterious ways, or perform mysterious magic tricks had me hooked.
Martin Gardener was not only a maths and puzzle guru, he also had a passion for magic- seeing something "impossibly" passing through something else is also a great way to makemaths fun.
This lens is a tribute to the incredibly inventive master of mathematics and mystery.
Three reasons to love Martin Gardner
He made mathematic fun- no easy feat!
His creativity and inquiring mind was without bounds!
He explained and performed some brilliant magic.
